Two Rivers One City
Portland’s river’s and community health is at a confluence. The Willamette and the Columbia Rivers provide sustenance, recreation and economic benefits to our region. Yet these rivers are burdened with a legacy of industrial pollution and threatened with a future of toxic contamination. What can you do to redirect our river’s future in a healthy and safe direction? Join us in the Two Rivers – One City evening event to find out!
The Two Rivers – One City event will bring a broad network of river users together to share their stake in clean water. Two Rivers, One City will highlight the value that the Willamette and the Columbia hold for different communities in the Portland area, as well as educate attendees about the current threats to the health and prosperity of these waterways. The event will include an overview of the various Environmental Justice issues related to the Portland Harbor superfund cleanup and the oil-by-rail projects along the Columbia.
