The Wilamette Speaks: Stories of the Lower Wilamette River

Sat, 08/23/2014 - 6:30pm - 8:30pm

The Willamette Speaks Storytelling event is sponsored by the Willamette River
superfund community advisory and seeks to gather community wisdom about the river and reconnect residents with the lower Willamette by sharing stories. The superfund advisory will be on hand to offer updates, information
and opportunities for community feedback on the superfund.

The first storytelling event  will feature the Grand Ronde tribe's history of the river, as well as drumming by tribal members. Raconteur Roger Wendlick will offer a description of Lewis & Clark's first impressions of the lower Willamette, and Sean Morgan will describe experiences living aboard a sailboat at Willamette Cove.

The event is free and there will be refreshments available.

All are welcome.
