Resistance Ecology Conference

Resistance Ecology is a new organization about building movement. We are about cultivating an “ecology of resistance” that is able to respond to the circumstances of domination throughout our culture.
Resistance Ecology, in collaboration with the Student Animal Liberation Coalition, formally begin our mission at the Resistance Ecology Conference in Portland -- May 31 through June 2, 2013 -- by scrutinizing the Animal Liberation and Radical Ecology Movements of North America, addressing previous shortcomings and providing remedies through the insights of various SPEAKERS.
In this way, we desire to create a movement-wide discourse on these, and other, relevant issues; we desire to be accessible to everyone involved, as well as inclusive and inviting to other diverse perspectives. As examples, sexual and gender politics; repression and prison issues; globalization and imperialism; racial and ethnic struggles; political and social ecology; as well as class and economic dynamics are all frameworks which must be a part of our discourse and movement. These are just a few of the issues to be addressed by speakers, during panel discussions, and at workshops throughout this conference. Refer to the conference PROGRAM for a complete listing of events - times, dates, and issues - for which you may choose to become involved in this new Resistance Ecology movement.
