Professor Gerald Friedman on the Economic Benefits of Single Payer Universal Health Care
The guest is Gerald Friedman, Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts. His most recent book is Reigniting the Labor Movement: Restoring means to ends in a democratic labor movement, which assesses the decline of the labor movement in advanced capitalist democracies.
On May 17th, Health Care for all Oregon will be hosting Gerald Friedman, for a conference on the Economics Benefits of Single Payer Universal Health Care for Low Wage Workers, Unions and Community Groups.

Gerald Friedman also wrote State-Making and Labor Movements: The United States and France, 1876-1914. He is the author of numerous articles on the labor history of the United States and Europe, as well as the evolution of economic thought and the history of slavery in the Americas.
