This week the Supreme Court is making decisions that affect the future of the country in a profound way. On Tuesday they gutted a core part of the landmark 1965 Voting Rights Act. On Monday they sent a case challenging affirmative action back to be re-examined by the Fifth Circuit federal appeals court on the grounds that the lower court did not review the University of Texas'affirmative action program carefully enough.
