Masters of the Word

Our guest this week on Pathways is William J. Bernstein, author of the new book, Masters of the Word: How Media Shaped History from the Alphabet to the Internet. William is a financial theorist and historian whose books include The Birth of Plenty, The Four Pillars of Investing and most recently A Splendid Exchange. He is a Ph.D., M.D. and is a practicing neurologist in Oregon. Known for his quarterly journal of asset allocation and portfolio theory "Efficient Frontier", Dr. Bernstein is also a principal in the money management firm Efficient Frontier Advisor. He is a frequent guest columnist for Morningstar, and is often quoted in The Wall Street Journal. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
