Immigration Detainees Hunger Strike
Adam Carpinelli will interview Maru Mora Villalpando from Latino Advocacy in Seattle. Villapando will give an update on the detainees at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, Washington. On March 7th, hundreds of immigration detainees began a hunger strike seeking better food and treatment. Some are seeking to be released on bond while their cases are heard. The privately owned detention facility south of Seattle is under contract with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to house people being investigated for possible deportation.
