Two Corpses on a Bridge by George Simenon
Tongiht, Professor Ginger Kitty returns to read a classic detective mystery, "Two Corpses on a Barge", by George Simenon. Chief Inspector Maigret is called away from Paris to solve a double homicide along one of the many canels that cross the French countryside. A lockkeeper has stopped a barg that was drifting into the lock gates. On board he finds a pair of murdered bodies. The couple were known along the canel and it was rumored that there was money hidden on board the barge. Maigret settles into the local cafe, listens to everyone's stories, gathers the clues enjoys some local food and drink, and uncovers the truth.
