Short Description:
2nd annual beekeeping edition--keeping honey bees in the city; and caring for plants after the cold
It's the 2nd annual beekeeping edition! Host Glen Andresen and guest Jim Gilbert welcome Portland Urban Beekeepers (PUB) president Tim Wessels to talk about beekeeping in the city--it's advantages, it's pitfalls, it's rewards. And we'll talk about Tim and Glen's queen honey bee rearing project in the heart of Northeast Portland. In the second half of the show, Jim and Glen will discuss the aftermath of the arctic cold blast and how to evaluate your plants' health.

As always, a new Plant of the Month (good nectar and pollen plants for honey bees); a new bee-related Garden Stumper; and what's going on in the honey be hive this month.

The Dirtbag... Listen. Laugh. Learn.
