KBOO's Website Reborn

KBOO is very happy to be bringing you a fully redesigned website.  We've been gathering feedback among website visitors, our listeners, our supporting members, and faithful volunteers on what we can bring to our online audience.  Please read on for all the exciting changes you'll see appear over the next few days.

Coming in KBOO.FM 3.0

We're very happy to announce that we have reached the testing phase of a major revision of the website with phase one of the upgrade this past weekend.  This revision is over a year in the making and includes improvements that have been reqested for quite some time, as well as other pleasant surprises.  The changes are so numerous that I've summarized the highlights into different categories.

  • Brand new, bright fixed-width visual design
  • Completely redesigned homepage with more ways to featue content
  • New pages for music and public affairs

A little bug occured recently that caused program pages to list a show as "Afro-Caribbean" if the page is updated.  That is fixed now but you may need to go back and reset your show's music genres or public affairs topics.

Uploading images temporarily disabled

Just a quick update to let you know that if you are trying to insert an image into a post, you currently cannot upload onto our server.  Instead try finding an image elsewhere on the web and then pasting its address into the URL field.  Thanks for your patience.

Service for Hood River Broadcast Disabled Today

Our Hood River transmitter will be down from about 2 PM until 8 PM for engineering work.

Say Hello to our New Web Graphic Designer

KBOO's board has supported a visual redesign of our website.  To handle the task we've hired a graphic designer to assist in designing a new Drupal theme for our CMS website.

We were happy to hire Kevin Fitzpatrick for the position, as he brings with him professional experience with corporate clients paired with a fun, creative imagination that is outside the box.  You can view his portfolio and live examples of his work at http://www.kevinfitz.com and also make sure to check out the illustration he made for KBOO on the wall in the lobby.

Do You Twitter?

We do!  In our "tweets" not only do we let you know whats coming up and announce when we've uploaded a great podcast, but we're also giving away tickets!  Follow us on twitter here.

KBOO on Your iPhone

Thanks to the Public Radio Exchange, you can now listen to KBOO on your iPhone or iPod Touch via the Public Radio Tuner.  The tuner is an application with a sleek new look and state-of-the-art engineering allowing you to stream a high-quality verision of KBOO's signal.  It features a search, favorites list, the ability to find stations in your current location, and fast loading times.

We're happy to make KBOO available through this application and appreciate your membership, which allows us to continue our technological advances.
