The National Day of Silence was Friday April 25th. This is the largest student-led day of action in the country. Many schools in the Portland metro area, as well as nationally, participated in this event. This year's event was held in honor of Lawrence King, a 15 year old killed in school by a classmate because he was gay and non-gender conforming.

LGBTQ Meaningful Care Conference is happening Friday April 11, 2008 at the Convention Center. This is an all-day best-practices conference for health care and social services professionals.

Tune in on Tues April 8 from 6 to 7 pm for an hour of all things Ani DiFranco! Special highlights include cuts from her bootleg series, her first album, as well as her latest and greatest pieces too. Pledge Drive Special -- on Tues April 1 (April Fools Day), tune in to enjoy a live performance with local musical talent Sneakin' Out. If you haven't yet heard these three guys play live, you will want to listen to this show! Be ready for some fool-hardy fun and a few very creative covers, along with their original creations. This group has some serious talent and you will see/hear more of them in the near future!

There will be no Out Loud show on Tues 3/25. Instead, Prison Pipeline will have an hour special.

I was hoping to see Ani's show here at the Crystal on Friday April 18. My bad, my very bad, for not going to get tickets. I almost cried when I heard the show is sold out. I've seen Ani play live countless times over the years but not in the recent past. And not since she's a Mom. Wonder how that's affected her musak?

The next best thing I can do is dream of an ANI SPECIAL.....coming soon to a radio station near you......

For those that believe that LGBTQ folks don't need protection, read what happened INSIDE of a middle school. A child was killed because he was different.
