Myles Haselhorst of Ampersand Vintage

Listen to the interview here.

Myles Haselhorst has Ampersand Vintage on NE Alberta. This shop has art and photography books,  ephemera and a gallery. Myles talks about his vision for the gallery, which acts as an archive and clearinghouse of old images and graphics.  It unites both "high" and "low" sensibilities. He also talks about his upcoming exhibition of mixed-media paintings by Seattle artist Graham Fracha (image above).

Anne Grgich

 Listen to the interview here!

I wish I could write more in this blog but I am crazy busy. Nonetheless you should know that Anne Grgich is a self-taught artist who flaunts it. She filled in books since she was a child. Now her "books" are hugely 3 dimensional, made of mirrors and glass and beads and fabric, all collaged over and painted and often images of faces and people out of her imagination. She's my guest for May 19th.

Mark Woolley on Art Focus

Tomorrow my guest on Art Focus will be Mark Woolley. He’s been in the news a lot because he is bringing his gallery to a close. He has one more show to mount in that space: I could have been a Collecta. We’ll talk about his future plans and reminisce about his favorite shows.

It’s also pledge-drive time for KBOO - which means I’ll be offering a couple of family memberships to the Portland Art Museum during my show, as a way of thanking you for supporting the station. We’re also offering a glamour-filled evening at Bluehour. I hope you tune in.

this week on KBOO...

I have a couple of interviews this week on KBOO ....Kim McKenna will be my guest on Art Focus. She has a show called "Modern Problems" at the Beppu Wiarda Gallery.

Then I am also interviewing Kathe Kollwitz, the Guerilla Girl! She'll be on Political perspectives that same day as Kim, the 28th.
