Jan Dworkin, PhD is a certified Process Worker living in Portland Oregon. One of Arny Mindell’s original students, Jan is a pioneer and co-creator of Process Work theory and practice. She has been developing, researching and refining process work for over twenty years. She serves as Dean of Students for the Process Work Institute’s degree programs and is a senior faculty member of the Diploma program in Process Work as well as the Masters in Conflict Facilitation. She has co-founded and co-authored various Process Work training programs both in the U.S.A. and abroad. She is a co-founder of the Process Work Institute in Portland and the Global Process Institute.

Our guest this week on Pathways is Susan Schorn, author of the new book Smile at Strangers: and other lessons in the art of living fearlessly. Susan is a writer, martial artist, and self defense advocate. She has taught writing and literature at the University of Texas, St. Edward's University, and the University of Hawaii-Hilo. She holds black belts in Kyokushin and Seido karate and is a member of the National Women's Martial Arts Federation and former chair of the board of directors for Sun Dragon Martial Arts and Self Defense, in Austin, Texas (where she still trains and teaches). She is currently working toward self-defense instructor certification through the NWMAF, and earned her nidan (second degree) black belt in Seido karate in 2011.
Judy Chang Gummelt speaks about the process called "Alchemical Psychotherapy" as well as a relatively new modality known as eye movement therapy for overcoming post-traumatic stress, or EMDR. Judy lives and has a practice half the time in Manhattan and has started up a half-time practice right here in Portland, her second home. She has been into psychology for over 30 years with specializations in trauma (especially childhood abuse), addictions, depression, anxiety, and couples and family therapy. She conducts Empowerment Intensive workshops based on Alchemical Hypnotherapy and psychodrama. Judy's credentials are strong. She has a doctorate in psychology from New York University, as well as many other certificates.
