New from Spectre music:  Witchdoctor "Best Year"

Oh you didn't know!?!?!  Pigeon John cut his teeth in the early 90s in Los Angeles at the legendary Good Life Cafe, spitting rhymes on the same stage with then fledgling, now established artists like Freestyle Fellowship, Kurupt, The Pharcyde and Jurassic 5. Since then Pigeon John has been touring around the globe with his crew LA Symphony, and and putting out solo records through Quannum Projects. His second solo album, Dragon Slayer, is produced almost entirely by John with the aid of General Electriks' Herve Salters.

So I run into Myg, or rather he picks me up.  Lunchtime is Pho time at a joint on Powell Blvd,  the kind that you have to be local to know about.   The waiter, in matching jean jacket, and jeans (?!?) knows him by name, as do a lone skater sitting by himself enjoying Pho.  A couple of other homies run in to give daps, simply because they saw his wrapped van,  heavy with miles as he is literally fresh off tour with Talib Kweli.     I say this because Myg is creating a musical legacy deep within this town, while traveling to Mars- never an easy task.

Animal Farm will release its new album, "Culture Shock" on May 17th, featuring a host of legends; Talib Kweli, DJ Rob Swift from the X-Ecutioners and Abstract Rude. Culture Shock was entirely produced by group member Gen.Erik.   Download the newest single "Test of Time" and then you can indeed say "Hey I knew them when....."  Enjoy!
