I will also be talking about the special beetle who may be the spotted owl to the tar sands issue. Also I'll check in on the indigenous in the Brazilian rainforest.

Sarah Mitts, Director of Awaz, talks about fair trade, the Northwest Fair Trade Coalition (NWFTC) and a series of local fair trade holiday bazaars organized in partnership with local congregations. The markets serve to create a collective forum for the holidays to promote local organizations and businesses selling artisan crafted, fairly traded products from producers around the world and encourage conscious consumption for the holidays.

Sonya Atalay on Community-Based Archeology.

This Friday Dr. Atalay, Assistant Professor in Public Anthropology at the University of Massachusetts, Ameherst talks about the findings of her new book Community-Based Archeology, Research with, by and for Indigenous and Local Communities. She will highlight the power of decolonizing research methods in the field of archeology and empowering both archeologists and communities though this process. She will share examples from her own research with Native communities in the US and communities in Turkey.
