This wonderful couple have lived on the beach in Hawaii for 10 years, and plan to go back soon.

As well, Eli Baseler played ukele on this show. Thank you all. The show was coordinated by Shusli, and this was the best show I have ever participated in.

Great Show!

Osiyo, KBOOers!

What fun we had this morning on Tillicum Wawa! Lively discussion and music, chanting and ukelele playing...

Truly, there was a mixture of people! We had a man in his 20's and one almost 80. I loved that a strong native woman led the show with her son sitting in, playing ukelele before he heads off to adventure on the Islands.

John Talley honored us with a rare appearance at the station and told a couple of great stories.

We had a chance to talk with our friends, Iokepa, Hawiian spirtiual leader of the Return Voyage and his wife, Inette a gifted writer and journalist.

Voices from the Edge on 11/11/10 - Susan Banyas and The Hillsboro Story

A celebration of civil rights: Susan Banyas and The Hillsboro Story

Two months after the historic Brown v. Board of Education decision legally ending school segregation, the county engineer of Hillsboro, Ohio - a white man determined to force integration in the segregated town - set fire to Lincoln School, the town's "colored" elementary school. The two-year protest lead by five African American mothers to carry forward the struggle sparked by that fire drew the NAACP's Thurgood Marshall and led to Clemons v. Board of Education the first test case for Brown in the North.
