Forward is not just a direction, it's a way of life for Colorado based producer Alex B who is rolling out big tunes under the new guise of Paper Diamond. The new project finds the trusted producer moving into previously untraveled musical territory. The Paper Diamond sound has raw energy and the kind of dramatic anticipation only a seasoned producer can incite. Driving beats and bass grab on tight while deep, rich tones rumble under layers of spacey synthesizers, sweet melodies, and catchy vocals. One thing is for sure. The energy is high.

The Abe and Joe Talk Radio Show on 01/11/11

Air date:
Tue, 01/11/2011 - 8:00am - 9:00am
Short Description:
Are conservatives responsible for the Tuscon shootings? No. But their rhetoric set the tone.

For months, Abe and Joe have spotlighted the surge of violent, nationalist and eliminationist rhetoric emanating from the right. We have seen such things as guns at political rallies, questions about the president's citizenship, an anti-socialist revival and a dramatic increase in death threats against elected officials. We have seen a rash of domestic terrorism.

And now a man has opened fire on a crowd gathered to see a Democratic Congresswoman. Is there a connection? Today, Abe and Joe examine the reactionary forces at work in the United States -- and their consequences.

Voices from the Edge 12-23-10 Who Was Good & Who Was Bad in 2010?

program date:
Thu, 12/23/2010

It's that time of year, when Jo Ann and Dave review which of our public figures deserve a gift in their stocking and which deserve a lump of coal, such as Senator John McCain for his blind opposition to "don't ask, don't tell"; Governor-elect John Kitzhaber for stonewalling single-payer health care advocates once again;  and even closer to home, Portland Police Chief Reese and his public position on participatory democracy.

Listeners called in and shared their holiday list of candidates.

Jo Ann Bowman is a former state legislator, former executive director of Oregon Action, and a long-time leader in the struggle for racial and economic justice.
