trek in the Park Interview
Paul Guinan and Anina Bennett came by the studio to fill us in on Trek in the Park, live performances of scripts from the original Star Trek TV series present in Cathedral Park each Saturday and Sunday throughout August at 5pm. We talked about the performances, the audiences they have been having, as well as some obsevations about the original TV shows from back in the mid 1960s
The Mad Doctor was helping us out, but we didn't get the recording started until the interview had already started. As this opens we are talking about the look of some of the earliest episodes of the series.

48 Hour Film Project
The 48 Hour Film Project will be happening this weekend here in Portland. 25 groups will have a genre selected for them at random and then will have 48 hours to write a script, video record actors, in costume and make up, performing it, and then the raw footage will be edited down into a finished movie. We have two participants, Josh Bertholet and Kathryn Davidson, in the studio to tell us what they have prepared and what they expect they will have to do this weekend to copmplete a film in 48 hours. We will have them back in two weeks on the next show, after they have had time to recover, to tell us what happened.

Cuddle Magic live
Cuddle Magic were touring the country this spring, having also played in Denver and Seattle before coming to the Sidedoor last night in SE Portland. While they were in the studio, they mentioned that part of them are from Brooklyn, but the other members are from Philidelphia. When they said they met in college, I had to test them with a musical joke that only actual music students laugh at. A wonderful band, with electronic keyboards, trumpet and a bass clarinet among others instruments.

Return of The Ukeladies!
We loved them so much when they perfomed for us last Febuary,<http://kboo.fm/node/34030>, that we had to have them come back. In fact we were flooded with calls from listeners, last Monday, wondering when they would come on. I did have another band ready to perform, but the gals brought me an order of french fries, so we moved them right into the studio!

Shook Twins play live in the studio
Back with us in the studio, we welcome The Shook Twins. Katelyn and Laurie grew up in northern Idaho and have been singing together since before they were six. Now living in Portland, this is their second visit to KBOO, which we were so glad they could work into their busy performance schedule.. Acomplished musicians and singer/songwriters whom we wish could be on every show.
