And at 6:30, we’ll hear a discussion of whether ethanol really can be an alternative energy source to replace our dependence on oil.

The speaker is Dr. John Mashey, former Chief Scientist for super-computer maker Silicon Graphics. He investigated climate deniers, met with climate scientists being harassed and threatened, and went on a year-long quest to know who and why.

The conference, organized by the campus group Students United for Palestinian Equal Rights, or SUPER, aimed to examine the events of the Arab Spring, its regional and international implications, and its effects on the future of Palestine.

The final hour of the special features a lecture by Nora Barrows-Friedman, a journalist and staff editor for The Electronic Intifada, speaking about human rights issues in Palestine and their relation to the Arab Spring.
