Hedges and co-author Laila Al-Arian investigated the suffering of Iraqi civilians at the hands of American troops. The testimonies of soldiers and Marines provide a disturbing window into the indiscriminate killing of unarmed and innocent Iraqis being carried out daily by occupation forces.
