Young People's Film and Video Festival; "Playground" documentary about child trafficking

Producer-Host Natalie Butto features the Young People's Film and Video Festival, with Kristin Konsterlie of the NW Film Center and young filmmakers joining live in studio.

Also featured is "Playground" - a documentary raising awareness about child trafficking and sexploitation -including a recent interview with U.S. Senator Ron Wyden about the film's impact on related legislation.

This episode was co-produced and edited by Jennifer Chavez, who also presents the upcoming film event calendar.

 Bread and Roses host Nico talks with members of Maidenspirit, a Portland-based rite of passage program for adolescent girls.  Guest Dr. Jennifer Brusewitz explains the importance of rites of passage for girls in modern culture and links to historical rites of passage in North American cultures.  Also hear from girls who have been part of the program, and an interview with a male mentor for the companion program for boys, Peace Warriors
