Hiya, Hiya, Hiya Kids!

Well! Another 12 Hour Grateful Dead Marathon is officially behind us! Wow! What a good night! I am here to tell you about what happened between 3:00 and 9:00 PM P.S.T.  After Alicia's fine 3 hour set of "Attack Of The Killer Audience Tapes", Mathew took the chair for a rousing Jerry Band fest. Starting with Garcia Band 3-6-76 Seattle Washington, also a Killer Audience Tape, and ending with an ultra rare reading of Moonlight Mile. After that, we were treated to some Good Ol' Grateful Dead featuring Pig Pen. Just when you think you've heard it all, up pops something like April 1974 Marin County Bluegrass Festival. These selections were The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band with Jerry Garcia sitting in!

Despite a plethora of worthy aniversary shows today, and even the fact that we're going to 1983, I've picked a couple of other shows to pull from today.  On 4/13/83 the boys were in Vermont for their second of only four shows in that state.  A couple weeks later it's back to the Philadelphia Spectrum, second only to The Winterland as the most frequented venue, for a two night run.  We'll hear part of the

Music within and beyond boundaries, but all about da funk!

Tonight is a special musical journey known as the "Melting Pot of Picks".

Your regular host, Paula the Small, will be on a journey to Austin in order to bring some amazing spoken word to future airings of "Paula's Picks".

But, true to form, there has to be a musical adventure for our KBOO family every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month.

Who better to deliver that adventure than the conductor of worldwide music himself, host of "The Melting Pot" Dr. J!

"The Melting Pot" airs every Tuesday at 8 pm right here on KBOO. Dr.
