This peice was a soundfile discovered in Richard Francis's folder on the KBOO computer system. He was a wonderful person, who is really missed, since he passed away in Sept of 2009.

Ubu Membership Special

The Ubu Membership special.. though what's so special about it, is beyond me. Sure there's yet another episode of The City That Once Worked and a spoof about what one drinks at a Tea Party meeting, and some old play that Sudden Radio Project rejected, but probably the low point is the bit where Richard Francis and a couple friends tell big penis jokes.  Is this the best the Ubu Hour can do?  Why does valuable radio time have to be taken up by this inane drivial? Maybe someone will feel sorry for these pathetic people and donate money to the station.

YES, IT'S THE FABULOUS UBU MEMBERSHIP SPECIAL! LAUGHS, THRILLS AND MORE!

SHE OPENS HER EYES

program:
Ubu Hour
program date:
Mon, 09/06/2010

SHE OPENS HER EYES - An hour-long radio theater peice about a man who rescues a woman from being drowned by a pair of thugs, only to realize she's not what she seems to be. Inspired by grindhouse and pulp fiction, this audio drama contains lurid sex and violence, sci-fi and psycho-noir themes, and a lot more.. As one participant describes it (the out-take can be heard after the closing credits) this thing went from Michael Clayton meets Terminator to Cannibal Beach Bimbos..  WARNING: This peice contians pervasive profanity, several scenes of viserally brutal violence and strong sexual content. Listener discretion is strongly advised.. .
