Tonight we bring you LOST AND FOUND, a rather strange audio drama about.. well.. being lost, mostly. Various people find themselves lost in in a strange city.. but what does it mean to be lost? This is followed by a plunderphonic collage from various movies.
Long before there were role playing video games there were model railroads. Tonight's story, 'Mrs Union Station', by Douglas Welch, is about how a young couple's marrage is about to be destroyed by the alure of railroads and model trains.
This month Fortunato reads 'Mrs Union Station' by Seattle writer, Douglas Welch. Newly wed Mrs Applegate finds that her husband's passion for trains and railroading is destroying their marriage. She didn't mind that their honeymoon was spent riding every train line between Chicago and New York City and then, every subway in Manhattan! But he now spents most of his time with his friends, and their extensive model railroad set up, than with her! Also 'The Railway Guide' by Christopher Morley gives us a nostalgic look at the many railroads that criss crossed the country; read by Golden Whiskey.
Fortunato presents a classic nautical horror story by William Hope Hodgson. After surviving a tremendous storm at sea, a ship is blown into the endless conglomerate of weeds know as the Sargasso Sea. Something dangerous lurks unseen in the trackless wilderness of weeds. And begins to pick off the crew one by one in the moonless night.
Here's the (mostly) complete audio to the February 2012 Ubu Hour, even including some wacky bits where we ask for money for the station.. which reminds me, if you like stuff like this and want to continue to support it, click on the tip jar at the top right of your screen and donate to KBOO.
Here's the run-sheet of start times for different peices on the show..
0:00 Station ID/intro/first pledge break
9:20 Mr Czech Goes to the Occupy(also titled Mr. Chick Goes to the Occupy)
This is what happens when Ubu Hour runs out of plots.. the show was only half over, and there were no more scripts. A mysterious stranger enters the airroom. A bizarre look at the limits of radio theater...
