Dear Listeners,

It was great fun for me to put today's show together for you!  A calendar of holidays was my muse.  There are many celebrations throughout April so I built a set around most of them.  You heard music related to National Garden Month, International Guitar Month, National Poetry Month, National Humor Month (I had to stretch the meaning of the word "humor" for the songs for this one...), National Mathematics Education Month, Keep America Beautiful Month, and yes, that all-time favorite, National Frog Month!  Why, we even heard a set of music related to the telephone insofar as on this day in 1877 the first home phone was installed.  Sorry I couldn't find a song to commemorate National Welding Month--it wasn't for lack of trying...

"The lyrical style is acrobatic and joyfully disjointed—think Aesop Rock meets Busta Rhymes—while the subject matter owes far more to the post-apocalyptic claustrophobia found on Funcrusher Plus than to the more ubiquitous ride-or-die ethos of The Chronic. In cinematic terms, it eschews the tragic braggadocio of Scarface for a universe that is decidedly Blade Runner in its subterranean futurism." - Ryan Feigh (Portland Mercury) http://www.portlandmercury.com/portland/hive-mind/Content?oid=3300085

"It’s psychedelic rap, and in tandem with a pair of earbuds and Gavin Theory’s woozy, drum-’n’-bass-inspired beats, there’s enough here to trip you the fuck out." - Casey Jarman (Willamette Week)
