Rodney Crowell was the featured artist on "Swing & Country", which aired January 15, 2011 on KBOO 90.7 FM. Crowell's memoir entitled "Chinaberry Sidewalks" was due to come out just prior to his appearance at Portland's "Aladdin Theater" on Wednesday, February 9. The following audio is the last 40 minutes of that program in which we focused on the music that Rodney Crowell has produced since 2001. Along with the songs are excerpts from a taped interview we had with Rodney and joining us live in the air room was Portland native and Rodney's bass player for the past ten years, Denny Bixby.
Direct from their appearance at the Oregon Country Fair, Rita Hosking and her Band, performs in our studio. Also, animator/cartoonist Bill Plympton calls us from The Big Apple to tells us about his upcoming appearances at Powell's Books and the showing of his animated feature film 'Idiots and Angels' at The Clinton Street Theater.
Back in 1991 I could fit all my Hot Rod, Cars and Driving songs in one show. Over the years I've gotten so many more songs that I've split them into three months.
So after the 3 hours of Hot Rod songs in June we'll have 3 hours of songs to celebrate our love of cars.

Welcome to an evening of afrocentric jams...albeit a bit delayed from the laying over of the laying on of jazz hands from the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival tonight. Could not interrupt...disturb the groove.
We'll kick off this adventure of An Evening of Afrotainment with McCoy Tyner channeling John Coltrane into your soul, impressing upon and into us the groove of infinity.
