Christopher Kirkley joined Dr. Zomb again and this time featured mostly music from Mali and spoke about the ongoing political struggle there and its effect on the music scene and the ability to even have a music scene. Apparently, some of the artists he has met, recorded and released are directly involved in active resistance - to me this makes their recorded output that much more important and powerful and precious...   it seems that Chris has been in the right place at the right time to be able to develop relationships and document and share the changing musical culture he finds in the regions he travels to in some pretty unstable parts of the continent.
