DJ Tronic hosts the Plugged In show on KBOO the first and third Friday of each month from 10pm - 12am PST.  Tronic does a live DJ mix in the studio featuring the latest in house, techno, tech house, breaks, dubstep and more.  Tronic also has guest DJs in the studio, and we often talk about upcoming parties and club nights, and have ticket and CD giveaways on the show.

Tommy from Oakland-based Beats Antique will be our guest for this evening to kick-start our Spring membership drive and provide a preview of their Saturday performance at Someday Lounge.

Beats Antique forges a curious alliance between middle eastern traditions and potent west coast circus, underground hip hop, breakbeat brass band, downtempo, glitch and dubstep.  I've played them plenty on previous shows and it will be an honor to hear their influences and more.

Our first show after moving to Fridays will give a sneak preview of the upcoming Beat Off battle at Holocene.

THE BEAT OFF is a live sample based beat battle. each beat maker has one hour to create a beat that is under three minutes long, and uses only the sounds provided. there is a musical theme to each battle. last time the theme was 70s soundtracks. the time before that it was soul samples.
