Lounge World/Tiki Cha-Cha
Not that I mind staying up for such superb sounds, but do we have to have the best thing on K-BOO relegated to the middle of the night?
Amazing tunes, incredible variety. Thanks for top quality music. You are an awesome, consistently, worth losing sleep over, DJ!!!
Chintzy Schmaltz's Choice Cha-Cha-Cha haiku
First hour seems to be for weeding out the voyeurs. Too much disco techno crapola. Second hour is choice Chintz. Insomnia rewarded with stuff from scenes far and hidden-if-near. Especially jazzed by being turned on to Club des Belugas when Chintz played "Human Loss & Gain" a Radio Utopia remix featuring Bajka on vocals and apparently she also wrote the philosophical chitlin backed funky sax lyric. Wound up ordering Club des Belugas 2010 release Zoo Zizzarro thanks to Chintz's tip. Turns out they are a Berlin-based music collective featuring another vocalist-writer named Brenda Boykin who I used to listen to live in the soul clubs of Oakland and the East Bay in the 90's and wondered whatever happened to her. Now she's got players behind her with the imagination to unlock her creative powers and who woulda thunk to find this stuff on LOUNGE WORLD! Thank you Chintz and long may you run. Sorry to bother with the calls during your second hour nearly each week. Hopefully the playlists will get posted within days instead of within weeks of airdates. Your patience on the horn 'tween spins is most appreciated! Let the world know Chintzy Schmaltz is a class act...Last week's newer Bajka tune from her solo project Bajka In Wonderland...have to wonder if you were even aware of the larger scheme of things that "The Banker's Fate" and "The Vanishing" represent. Probably yes, yet your restraint segueing the sets lets the songs and music show with minimal tell contributing to the disorienting wee hours LOUNGE WORLD ambiance. Long may you run...
