On February 25th Eva Lake with Interview Rhine Ruder and Rhea Ruder Sleeman about their father, the artist Leonard Ruder. Ruder was the subject of "Evidence of a Life's Work" at the Marylhurst Art Gym. He also had a recent show at Augen Gallery.
The Portland Art Museum is currently showing a triptych by Francis Bacon, a portrait of Lucian Freud. Bruce Guenther, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art from the museum will discuss with Eva Lake this incredible work on January 14, 2014.
Blackfish Gallery turns 35 this year. Eva Lake will interview members Barbara Black and Stephan Soihl plus artist Paul Missal on the 31st of December about the"Becoming BLackfish" show.
Mary Chomenko Hinckley will be Eva Lake's guest on December 17th. She has a show called Gates of Venice: Pattern and Color at the Augen Gallery.

On November 19th Eva Lake talked to Prudence Roberts, Sue Taylor, Elizabeth Bilyeu and Marie Sivak RE: Jaune Quick-to-See Smith's visit and lecture which is at ~ 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21, in the Performing Arts Center, Sylvania Campus. Smith’s talk “My Life as a Cultural Arts Worker” will address not only her artistic process, but also the complex political and cultural symbols as well as narrative elements she weaves into her paintings, prints and other works. We discussed the lecture and also about the inception and development of PCC's Portland Women in Art Lecture Series.

On Tuesday October 29 at 11.30am Joseph Gallivan interviews Maribeth Graybill, The Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Curator of Asian Art at the Portland Art Museum.
Graybill will talk about Samurai! Armor from the Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Collection. The show is about the life, culture, and pageantry of the samurai, the revered and feared warriors of Japan—from one of the finest and most comprehensive collections in the world.
Samurai runs through January 12, 2014.

Victory Gallery hosted Hot Haus, a panel discussion about the future of art here in Portland. Jeff Jahn followed it up with a related post called Priming the Cultural Pump. Art Focus extended the conversation on air - with Jeff Jahn, Stephen Slappe and Jane Kate Wood of Victory Gallery.
On July 10TH Bobby Abrahamson, Julia Dolan and Myles Haselhorst discussed North Portland Polaroids, which encompasses 2 exhibitions and a book. Abrahanson shot the photos - the shows are at Blue Sky and Ampersand Gallery, which Haselhorst curates. Dolan, Minor White Curator of Photography curator from the Portland Art Museum, wrote the essay for the book.
