Afrika Hot House
Two genres of music arose in the townships of Johannesburg during the struggle to overcome apartheid, house music (imported from the US) and Kwaito, a slowed-down, smoothed out house rhythm with African lyrics and relevance. Add to the rhythm of the beat, and renewed rhythm for the feet...pantsula dancing, and you have a tremendous creative lift-off to the stars.
DJ Black Coffee, Culoe De Song, Vinny Da Vinci, and the Godfather of South African House Music, Oskido re-imagined and remixed the "freedom" sounds of US House Music to become the soundtrack for the increasing intensity of the anti-apatheid struggle. Hear the uplifted voice of spirits on the wing, here... the re-birth of house in Johanesburg. Word.

I also listened for the first time this past Saturday. I was searching the website afterwards to find the name of the song that played at 7:55pm.
